Hello, 2012!
Meanwhile, do catch SHLY's alter-ego, ash for his debut gig at Malaysia's Zouk Nightclub this coming 29th December at 4play V2 with the ever cool Goldfish and Reeve.
And 4th January 2012 at the Butter Factory in Singapore.
With the annual Merdeka event featuring Malaysia's LOUD @ Zouk residents, Goldfish and Blink, happening tomorrow, we have decided to release the third instalment to SHLY's Across the Universe mix series.
Pack with the latest tracks from the likes of Avicii, Dirty South, Hardwell and Thomas Gold, this mix will take you across the universe for the third time.
Two years ago we started this little project with an intention to influence the music in Melbourne's clubbing scene. Within those two years, we have seen significant changes as the line of music genres are blurred. This year, we saw collaborations between industry heavyweights such as David Guetta with Snoop Dogg and Afrojack with Ne-Yo. Both tracks, taking over radio airwaves with its dance synths and catchy pop hooks.
Nonetheless, we would like to take a moment and thank you for supporting our wonderful exploration into music. As always, feel free to catch up with us weekly at Seven Nightclub (Fridays) and Bass Lounge (Saturdays)
This year, for your listening pleasure, we have a special guest mix by Singapore's Best New DJ, Eclipse. If you ever head down to sunny Singapore, be sure to check him out.
Spanks 2.0 brings you a slightly more commercial approach with a little twist of big-room vibes that we currently enjoy.
It has been a while since our last update and with August, come the highly anticipated Merdeka Eve celebrations.
Last year, we had Mizz Nina strutting her hit single, What You Waiting For. This year, we have Goldfish and Blink, controversial rapper Namewee and Playboy bunny, Felixia Yeap.
Malaysian or not, Merdeka Eve has become one of the events of the year. Malaysia has no doubt, produced some of Asia's strongest musicians and disc jockeys. From Mizz Nina releasing a new track with Flo Rida to Pop Shuvit taking over Japan's alternative world, the names Goldfish and Blink are synonymous with Asia's nightlife scene.
Goldfish and Blink (also part of LAPSAP) helms Malaysia's number one night, Loud @ Zouk. The both of them have gone to support big name DJs like Afrojack, Chuckie, 2ManyDJs, Hardwell, Boys Noize, Crookers and Laidback Luke.
Besides the usual, they are in the midst of producing their debut album with two singles already released.
The first single, In The House already getting air time in Malaysia's FM radio. Remixes also include Kid Kaio (played by Laidback Luke), Gianni Marino and Japan's famed Dex Pistols.
Nonetheless, we would like to invite you to come together and celebrate the independence of Malaysia and, the fact that music plays a big part in uniting races and nationalities.
We leave you with a bonus live set recording of Goldfish's set at Cravesense 2011
